Seewald Cottage

This simple holiday cottage is square on plan with the accommodation spread over three floors. Formed from in-situ concrete, a basement provides the foundation for the house, and concrete elements also spring up from here to provide support for the upper levels. Ground level holds the open-plan living and dining areas which wrap themselves around a simple core area that contains the kitchen, stairs and a feature fireplace. At first floor, a bathroom, master bedroom, along with two other double bedrooms and two dressing rooms nestle under the eaves. A large recessed window can be found in the same location on each elevation on the ground floor, whilst on the first floor horizontal strip windows occupy opposing elevations. Internally, timber features heavily on the walls, floor and ceiling. Externally, the building is clad with horizontal larch strips, whilst the roof is finished in metal.
