Wolfvision HQ

Wolfvision are manufacturers of projection equipment. They outgrew their old HQ in nearby Gotzis, and ran an architectural competition for a new one. Externally, the building appears to have a deep plan, but a centrally placed atrium brings light and ventilation into the middle. Accommodation is arranged on two floors over a basement level for parking. The ground floor is given to production and storage, with administration on the upper level. The building is clad in profiled copper. To combat insolation perforated sheets cover the majority of the first floor windows leaving only a narrow horizontal, unprotected strip at the base. Solar gain is controled on the ground floor by vertical external louvres - also made of copper. Consequently it is difficult (if not impossible) to see into the building during the day and this gives the building a very enigmatic air. Heating and cooling is handled by means of a ground source heat pump.
