The building in the Pasettistraße/Traisengasse is a refurbishment and a modernization of an existing office building, built in the 80ties. The urban articulation of the new entrance to the building is plausible. The design of the façade, using ceramic tiles, is a reinterpretation of the old façade by conventional means. The design concept for interior spaces and the courtyard is marked by generosity and elegance. The total energy consumption concept as a whole is conclusive. It minimizes the total energy demand (external shading, mechanical air supply and air exhaust with highly efficient heat recovery from exhaust air, decentralized water heating, high insulation standard). The concept enables the highest possible efficiency of the summer night air ventilation - in combination with the existing large thermal masses which will be operated without active cooling.
