De Kaai

A long, narrow site on the river quay has been divided into two zones: a strip along the dividing wall containing the services and a long, freely sub divisible living area overlooking the river. The living area has been organized along to the dramatic view: a twelve-metre-long panorama window follows the slow-moving current; a large floor-to-ceiling window frames the view on the river bend. There are four floors of apartments with the top apartment designed as a duplex with roof terrace. The curved volume of the apartment block is clad with horizontal wooden siding.
