Cinematek
Robbrecht en Daem Architecten know how to put cultural heritage in a contemporary perspective. For the renovation and refurbishment of the Film Museum, located in the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, the architects used new and old means. The light and the visual angles in Victor Horta's building were used to let Cinematek connect with the rest of the structure. With more than 50.000 titles, the Film Museum has one of the most important movie collections in the world. Therefore, technological enhancements and digitizing the vast collection were necessary to preserve and exhibit it.
