The four floors and rooftop of this 40 year old workshop have been renewed and adjusted to modern day demands of interior climate, wellbeing and safety. Werkhuizen MIN is an extraordinary workshop; they offer a workspace for disabled people who handle and manufacture packaging, wrappings and coverings. They strive to create a proper, safe and strong but preserved environment in today’s modern urban society. The smaller side-building was demolished and a replaced for a new service-zone with elevators, toilets and entrances by Antwerp-based META Architectuurbureau. The larger brick workshop is renovated. On the ground floor lies the storage space, first and second are for the workshops itself, on the fourth offices and dressing rooms. Last and best is the roof-top petanque-court that offers a great view of the Antwerp skyline. Artist Perry Roberts added the interior graphics and signs.
