In a 16th century Gothic house the transformed back rooms were remodelled with a new staircase, to obtain again the open living space of the rooms like they were in the past. The three dimensional structure works itself up to the attic on a height of 13 meters. It acts as a stairway, a load bearing wall, structural support, filter for daylight and an stacking place for books, music and art.
