This educational building in Lyon consists of three elements: the foundation, the blocks and the blade of glass. The base, in contact with the ground and the flows of the city, emerges as a rock and contains the most dense activities (lobby, cafeteria, amphitheaters). Made of 'pleated' reinforced concrete, this block is pierced at random and opens generously to the garden. The programme diversity led to a random openings composition on different fronts. The link between the blocks is carried out by horizontal structures, protected by a large blade glass façade located on Avenue Tony Garnier. In addition to the functional connections allowed by the blade of glass, it is also an acoustic screen against the noise of traffic, a space for strolling and contemplation of the urban spectacle, but also a institutional façade of the university.
