The Department of Herault decided to gather heads of departmental archives, book and reading and his departmental office of sports (Hérault-Sport), within the same building: Pierres Vives. This building, whose design was entrusted in 2002 to the Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, was built in the heart of Mosson in Montpellier. The public opening is scheduled for September 2012. By bringing these three entities in one place, the General Council wishes to bring an ambitious project based on the encounter of culture and sport. In addition to the tasks currently performed by the archives, the directorate of books and reading and Herault-Sport, the equipment will be able to offer a new service offering, focused on access to knowledge for all, the intersection of publics.
