The project was the winner of a competition in 1997, where 8 architectural firms participated. The building is located in the central part of Berlin, near the Tiergarten. The intention was to create a building with an unmistakable image and unforgettable in the urban memory. It gives a changeable image of solidity and transparency, with a dynamic effect depending on the position of the viewer. It creates a monumentality, lightness and transparency game, that tries to express the Mexican reality.
