The 18-storey building between Alte Potsdamer Strasse and the new city park was erected on a triangular shaped plot. It is one of the three skyscrapers that form a gateway to Potsdamer Platz. Like the Debis Tower, this building is faced with yellow-ocher terracotta bricks and glass elements. The expressive roof over the main entrance and the glass corner construction which appears like the bow of a ship, are impressive (text from 'Berlin, New Architecture').

Architect Hans Kollhoff realised his vision of trans-Atlantic bridge-building with this striking structure. Based clearly on the visual language of American skyscrapers of the art deco period, this high-rise also has its own unique, German character on account of its reddish, peat-fired brick facade." the left one beside it is Piano's work.
