The Königin-Olga-Bau (Queen Olga Building) was built on the site of a former Gründerzeit building which had been destroyed during World War II. It is a structure of reinforced concrete with natural stone and fair-faced brick façades. Paul Schmitthenner chose this historicising design to present his position in the discussion between modernists and traditionalists that started again in Stuttgart after 1945. Today the building is used by the Dresdner Bank.
