Sensory Garden at Parco delle Rupicole

Rupicole Park is located in the east part of Rome, close to the GRA. The district has one of the highest percentages of residents with physical, sensory or psychic disabilities. The decision to locate the "sensory garden" in this position is the result of the consideration that on the border, with direct access to the garden, stands a housing community for persons with disabilities. The goal is to create a space for all residents of the neighborhood, where they can be carried out in play, socialization, job placement and rehabilitation, such as: training of gardening for people with various disabilities; laboratories in the green areas for children, teens and adults with disabilities; ortotheraphy and aromatherapy practice; job placement in the management and arrangement of the garden by guests of the community housing; integration among the guests of the housing community, residents of the neighbourhood (children, adults and elderly) and institutions in that area.
