Comme des Garcons Store

The flagship store for Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons, designed by Future Systems and located in the Ometesando shopping district (not far from Herzog and de Meuron's amazing Prada store). Future Systems took out the exterior walls of this drab office building and pulled back structural columns and forming a façade of sloping glass panels. These flowing waves of glass printed with a pattern of blue dots separate the dirty street and store interior as if the store front was a piece of fabric. White interior partitions and glass walls further divide up the interior space. The store design also involved Comme des Garçons' fashion designer Rei Kawakubo and interior designer Takao Kawasaki.
