Office for Tax and Customs Administration
The design of the office for Tax and Customs Administration is based on the multiple and intensive use of space and sustainability.
Thanks to a larger grid of 7.8 meter and a larger depth of the building, space was created for a flexible and very compact layout of the office space. The façade has floor-to-ceiling windows that enable daylight to flow deeply into the building. A diagonal cut in the main mass offers the passer-by at the station a view straight through the building at two large trees. This vista marks the main entrance. The two trees grow out of the two-storey parking lot. The centre of the building is, literally and symbolically, formed by the trees and the surrounding roof-garden.
