Café-restaurant OPEN
An old turn track bridge on Westerdokskade in Amsterdam and dating from 1922 has been transformed into a café-restaurant by Dutch architect Pi de Bruijn in association with de Architecten Cie. On top of the old bridge a simple, transparent volume has been placed. The modernist box has an all-round glass façade, giving visitors a view of the surrounding harbour and water from every angle. Inside, two separate units containing the kitchen, toilets and bar are placed freely within the volume, giving the interior a light and open character.
