The Netherlands Film and Television Academy (NFTA) is one of the leading international schools for professional training in film and quality television. The NFTA differs from other audiovisual courses in that it trains specialists to make productions in a team. Specialisation is possible in fiction directing, documentary directing, screen writing, editing, producing, sound design, cinematography, production design, and interactive multimedia/visual effects. The four floor-building offers studios, ateliers, offices, a large cinema and all other functions for all these different uses. The entrance to the building is at the ‘back’, on the small square. The façade which is viewed most of the time, the front side, seen from busy Meester Visserplein, has hardly any openings in the closed glass façade: the interiors need not have daylight. The glass is framed in grey concrete.
