Medical Centre Airbornelaan
The urban environment of the Airborne Medical Center is typical of the 1960's. The spacious and green design of public space with many dwellings are interspersed by tall residential buildings. A hierarchy of roads (city access road, main and district access roads) is located around the plot. Moreover, in a green area at the top of the plot the Airborne Monument (WW II) located.
By a subtle shift of the building toward the memorial, building and situation get a three-sided orientation and the war memorial gets a building façade as a new reference plane.
The medical center is a building for a pharmacy, doctor, physical therapy, home care, etc. The desire from the clients to emphasize the accessibility and combined value of the functions in the building, translated into a horizontal building. In combination with parking pressures maximum utilization of the land surface increased.
