School De Rooi Pannen

The existing school for two Dutch types of education of De Rooi Pannen in Eindhoven had a urgent lack of space. Therefore the existing school building is renovated severely and a large part of the educational program has moved to a new multifunctional educational building. This new building consists of two schools on top of each other. A sculptural staircase connects the upper school with the ground. Just like De Rooi Pannen in Tilburg a central assembly hall is used to design a school that is as compact as possible. The dark coloured masonry and the explicit windows of the new building make a sharp contrast with the existing buildings. At the same time the new buildings embraces the old building which results in a coherent picture for the entire complex.
