Dwellings Vroendaal

The terraced houses are situated on relatively small plots in the Vroendaal district on the periphery of Maastricht. The site was an important source of inspiration for the design of the villas. By encompassing the residential functions in a U-shaped monumental, practically closed wall, the dwellings have two aspects. Seen from the district, they are closed with optimal privacy for residents; seen from the landscape, they are open with a view of that landscape. The shifting of the façade lines gives this hybridity extra impact.
