Floriade street
The corridor at the entrance of the Floriade 2012 Venlo is a composition of standardized wooden volumes. As the only exception a greenhouse is the centre of this entrance area. The characteristic contour forms the bases for this commercial pavilion and is placed as far back as possible to provide with a slow square in front of it. Alterations of the volume are based on slow traffic routes planned for the exit of the Floriade. An expressive gesture towards the main route is the result improving the exposure at the entrance. The black portals soften the boundary and create contrast between out- and inside in the sequence of the building entrances. The activity will continue in the outdoor but covered space.
