Church of the Transfiguration
Located in a residential area, this church didn't want to dominate by its scale and luxuriant form but enter the silhouette of the area harmoniously and stand out for the quality of spatial solutions and formal moderation in contrast to the diversity of the area. Realization of churches in 1980s required special consent of the authorities of the Polish People's Republic, and since the consent was given extremely rarely, multifunctional religious complexes were built. Apart from the church (on a square plan with the axis of entrance-chancel on the diagonal), the realization of a presbytery, a religious education point, a chapel for weekdays and an academic chapel was expected. Individual buildings arranged around the courtyard (outdoor church) are moved apart so as to make the courtyard widely available, to make it the place of contemplation and quietness away from the hustle and bustle of the district.
