The house that is the subject of this remodeling project is located in the west part of Porto, near the City Park. New requirements of living in a contemporary urban house were decisive to transform the existing typology, both in the inside and outside spaces. An all-use basement was included to complement the program. We wanted the interior to be as open as possible towards the backyard, working it as a clear extension of the first while keeping good privacy conditions. The continuity between the interior oak floor and the outdoor deck of wood is accompanied along the sidewalls by the long oak cabinets and shelves, onto the outer wooden trellis. The glass sliding panels are totally retractable, allowing a full connection of these contiguous spaces. Inside, the finishings are simple but not simplistic, pleasant to the touch and to the look; neither too clinical nor too saturated. Externally, the final result existing/new will be unified by using the same light grey mortar.
