Centro Cívico León Oeste
Centro Cívico León Oeste (in English: Civic Centre León West) was, according to the local government's website, constructed to help rejuvenate the west side of the city. It skilfully incorporates the shells of older buildings, giving them a new lease of life. The composition, predominantly metal-clad, consists of three parts. The southernmost, a slab block, terminates the row of taller, neighbouring structures on the north side of the Avenida de Quevedo, and houses cellular offices. The central block incorporates the existing brick structures in a form which accentuates their character. The northern block houses a library and lecture theatre, and sits on a new stone base. The library, on the upper floors, features saw-tooth north lights, which echo the adjacent forms.
