A celebration of avant-garde interior design and architecture, Hotel Puerta America brings together 19 of the world's finest architects and designers in a unique hospitality experience that's the talk of the continent. Each of the hotel's 12 floors bears the imprint of a different design talent. For instance, Pritzker prizewinner Zaha Hadid designed the first floor which is characterized by sinuous lines and fluidity based on new developments in digital design. Norman Foster's serene second floor draws inspiration from the palette of the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida. On the third floor David Chipperfield pares down to the essentials with hand-made floorings, upholstered walls, and white marble to invoke luxury and privacy. Chipperfield has elected to use a simple but luxurious range of materials such as handmade black terracotta flooring for the bedroom, walls upholstered in wild silk in gold tones, white marble, etc. For the others ... go see by yourself.
