Previous changes to the exterior of the church severely affected the functioning of the building. One of the biggest challenges of the project was precisely to incorporate a new series of distinct spaces within the clear existing structure composed by a large central nave and side chapels. The reference to religious symbols has been reduced to a minimum. All pieces of furniture and liturgical items have been specifically designed for this project, aiming to keep a consistency with all elements and the palette of materials and colours used. The formal language of the liturgical elements draws simple aesthetic forms that convey solidity, roundness and timelessness.
