Besides the Stücki and Deutsche Bahn properties, this 23.000 square meter lot is one of the few remaining contiguous properties in the city of Basel. Based on a competition won by Blaser Architects, a flexible new laboratory and office park for life science and biotechnology research was planned. The design calls for using the elevated street as an entry and communications level. Below this floor are delivery, parking, and storage facilities. Above are six laboratory and office levels. Because of the innovative facade design with a newly developed fiber membrane system, the building will be truly eye-catching.
