Kinderheim Brugg

The Kinderheim (orphanage) in Brugg is situated in a residential area on a sloping plot next to the Süssbach stream. The three existing (renovated) and the new house are densely situated around a central place that operates as a new centre of the residential quarter. According to your viewpoint the different buildings can be read as a whole or as separate buildings. The rough plaster and the use of typical Jurastone in the basement and entrance lobbies glues the houses together. The scale of the different houses cut them apart and let them blend in the residential area.
