School Churwalden
Very early work by Peter Zumthor, this addition to a school complex consist of two new classrooms buildings and a gymnasium, built out of concrete bricks. The classrooms develop in two levels: entrance on a main corridor with a first working-space, individual staircase leading to the upper floor, that is the main teaching space, opening on a garden in the back. From the outside, the gym looks as a 3-naves church; the interior reveals that the roof of the shape is given by the structure, running longitudinal to the gym.
