Excel is a successful exhibition centre in London's docklands. The original building was opened in 2001, having been designed by Moxley Architects. The concept is simple: A wide pedestrian street, with entrances for the public at either end, runs through the centre of the footprint with the exhibition spaces located on either side, all sitting on a huge parking lot. Grimshaw's phase 2 is more of the same, increasing the floorspace by roughly 50%, but executed with the architect's typical "high-tech" panache.

Opening hours The main concourse is open to the public, but entrance to the exhibition halls is usually limited to ticket holders for one of the many exhibitions.
How to get there? The project is immediately adjacent to Prince Regent station (for Excel East) on the Docklands Light Railway. At the time of writing the project was not visible on the satellite image
