Precariously situated on a steeply sloping site, the Lexton/MacCarthy site offers wonderful west facing views of Los Angeles. Given the limited square footage of the program, the primary floor was conceived as a free plan, to allow for programmatic flexibility. The second story houses the master bedroom suite and traces an area on the first floor that houses the kitchen, stair, bathroom and closet. The resulting abstract mass emphasizes the uneven distribution of program. (text from architects website)
