Renzo Piano Building Workshop & FXFOWLE collaboratively designed a new headquarters for The New York Times. The building, located on Eighth Avenue between 40th and 41st Street opposite the Port Authority Bus Terminal, unites the company's employees under one roof in an exceptional signature structure. The design incorporates a transparent glass tower screened by planes of glazed terracotta tubes that seem to float above the street. An advanced sunshading system, floor to ceiling glass, increased ceiling heights, efficient lighting and mechanical systems, displaced ventilation, extensive mock-up testing, and a variety of additional sustainable features will ensure that the New York Times Building will bring a new standard of comfort and efficiency in high-rise office space. The building is 52 Stories (1,142 feet) tall, including antenna.
