United Nations Plaza
In response to requests from the United Nations, New York City and the State of New York combined to create a special public corporation and development zone to provide phased expansion space for the United Nations. The master plan consists of three buildings: two 40-story towers connected by a common base and a third building of 15 stories which serves as the headquarters for UNICEF. The Phase I and Phase II towers contain office space, meeting rooms, a hotel, restaurant, health club, and apartments. Phase III houses the headquarters of UNICEF.
