San Francisco Federal Building
Standing 71 metres tall, the San Francisco Federal Building was completed in 2007 and is located in the SoMA area of San Francisco. Gray concrete walls are juxtaposed with custom, zig-zagged '9Wood' wood ceilings. Designed to be a 'green' building, it consumes less than half the power of a standard office tower, an indication of how building design can help slash emissions of greenhouse gases. It is the first naturally ventilated office building on the west coast since the advent of air conditioning.
